Movement Artist

Gabriela Piñeiros

Gabriela Piñeiros is a movement artist and a yoga teacher. She holds an MA in Cultural Management is completing an MA in Dance Studies (UNIR). Her approach to movement and dance integrates the idea of thinking of the body as a whole entity – body, mind, soul, spirituality – and not as separate systems. In that way her research, creation, and practice allows the integral self, from subtle to physical, to inform movement creation, healing processes, and states of awareness needed for presence. She turns to movement improvisation and writing set in a ritualistic contact to enable participant to access the full range of our bodies’ abilities. She currently directs several creation and research projects in Ecuador and Spain such as Mnemotecnia Lab, Fractal Irregular, and Escena Continua.
